Anderson's Promise Land - Therapeutic Horseback Riding

Promise Land Stables is a dream come true for Leroy and Diann Anderson. They are a couple with faith who have developed a non-profit therapeutic horse riding service to people with disabilities who desires it free of charge. A doctor's referral is required. For safety purposes, therapy horse riders need to weigh less than 180 lbs.

“Being a nonprofit outfit, we can always use whatever folks can help us with,” Leroy Anderson said.. “Of course we have to feed the therapy horses year-round so it’s always good to get hay donations. Then there’s medicines and other horse related needs that always come along. “We have a few very loyal volunteers that help as walkers (alongside each therapy horse) help with riding stable chores and just about anything else that needs doing.

“We can always use donations of any kind,” he said. “Right now we’re supported by a couple of local churches and a few individuals, so we can always use any help that’s offered, especially volunteers that can work with the horse therapy riders.
“We need prayers, time and of course money (which is tax-deductible) always helps since we operate with whatever we have available.   We are always grateful for any help that folks generous enough to offer,” he said.

Promise Land, a Bible based ministry, features a small “cowboy town” complete with a blacksmith shop, jail, general
store and a chapel. Last year Promise Land gave out 300 cowboy Bibles through the chapel.
